The
Banana Bunch
The Banana Bunch is a premier steeldrum band based in Southern
California. The core members are Chris Wabich on steeldrum,
Kirkwood Coakley on bass and Greg Paxton on drums. They perform
a wide variety of styles including Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Rock
and Pop- either instrumentally or with vocals. The Banana Bunch is
guaranteed to make any backyard party, wedding, corporate event
or Christmas party festive indeed!
The Banana Bunch needs an 8 x 10 foot area with
a hard, flat surface that is near a power
outlet on which to perform. Shade is preferable, as steeldrums
will go out of
tune with exposure to the sun. If no shade is available, please
advise and the band will provide their own.

What happens when two rock and roll castaways from
Southern California
are shipwrecked on an uncharted desert island with nothing to entertain
themselves but some instruments that happened to wash ashore? That's the
idea behind Three Hour Tour. Gregg Paxton plays a steel drum that
floated in from
somewhere in the
Caribbean
, while Thom Brennan strums a ukulele that was set adrift
somewhere in the South Pacific. It doesn't matter that the two
instruments
are from different cultures when they happen to sound so great together!
Everyone from Harry Belafonte and Bob Marley to Herb Ohta and
Israel
"Brudda Iz" Kamakawiwo`ole are represented in this duo's unique
sound. Toss in
some Beatles and Elvis Costello and you'll see why these guys are rockin’ the
Island circuit. Now, just sit back with your favorite fruit drink
and get
ready to enjoy Three Hour Tour!
