Mark Wood, Doug Legacy, Josh Schreiber and Brad Cummings all come to The Calypso Kings direct from Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band, one of the country’s best Jimmy Buffett tribute bands! 

The core of this band has been together for more than fifteen years (give or take a few) and has always loved the “Little Latitude, Caribbean” feel! It all started with a trip to Jamaica and Trinidad many years ago. The contagious island grooves and steel drum sounds were forever imbedded in those young players minds. Doug soon after began lessons with longtime friend and legendary Trinidadian steel drummer, Robert Greenidge. Brad Cummings, the bands bass player has long been a student of the world beat grooves from Africa and the Caribbean. Josh Schreiber lays down the beat in this band. He is a New Jersey native who started spending spring and summer vacations as a kid in Florida and then the Caribbean and was hooked on those contagious island grooves, and Mark Wood a longtime Jimmy Buffett and Harry Belafonte fan, was introduced to the island sounds years ago!  

The Calypso Kings perform a mixture of Calypso, Reggae, Soca, and Samba/Salsa all true to the partying Island Style. This is the perfect band for your upcoming event. Just imagine this … The Calypso Kings along with Tiki Huts, Island Shirts, plenty of “Rum Drinks” and you instantly have a truly festive, contagious party atmosphere,  that your guests will not soon forget.
