In 1993, Akemi Welsh started Polynesian Paradise, a professional entertainment company specializing in the traditional and modern dances of Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa.

 

Polynesian Paradise prides itself on providing vibrant, high-energy and authentic Polynesian entertainment to audiences of all ages. Since its inception, the company has grown by leaps and bounds, taking the show all over the world. In 2005 alone, the company reports having had a record-breaking 331 performances, which is more than any other Polynesian dance company in California. As one of the most sought after Polynesian shows, PPD has done it all, ranging from television cameos and movie premieres to print work.
