Tomoko Sato
Tomoko Sato, DMA, began her music lessons at age six and pursued bachelor of music degrees in Piano and Harp Performance at Chapman University. Upon graduating, she continued her study at Manhattan School of Music, where she holds a Master of Degree in Orchestral Performance. She is also a graduate of University of Southern California in Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Harp Performance, with minors in Music History, Piano Performance and Music Education. She studied with distinguished teachers, JoAnn Turovsky, Sarah Bullen, and Mindy Ball. A winner of the Anne Adams Awards and a recipient of Los Angeles Philharmonic Excellence in Diversity Scholarship, Tomoko Sato gives recitals annually in Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Her orchestral performance includes Honolulu Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and Manhattan Virtuoso.
Besides the classical performance, Tomoko Sato has appeared in TV productions, "A Different World on NBC, "Dateline" on NBC, "Temptation Island" on FOX, "For Better or For Worse" on TLC and is heard in soundtrack for the film, "Empiricist". Broadway music includes "Phantom of the Opera" and "Fantasticks!". She is also a co-founder of Harp Duo, "Harpsody" and her first CD is currently for sale. In addition to the above, she maintains a regular teaching schedule. She is a member of American Harp Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society, and Music Teachers Association of California.
